Aid to Palestine
The Qawem Coalition recognizes that while humanitarian aid does not address the root cause of the economic and resource crises in Palestine —zionist colonialism — the Palestinian people are in need of food, water, fuel, medical supplies, clothing and other resources for survival. These basic resources are necessary to sustain Palestinian communities in their ongoing struggle for liberation. In addition to mass killings and attempts to terrorize the Palestinian people into submission, the zionist colonizers have imposed mass starvation on the people in Gaza by stealing their land and prohibiting the importation of food. Their ban on the Palestinians’ use of the Mediterranean Sea for fishing and transporting goods has paralyzed local industries. The zionists continue to steal or pollute Palestinian water resources, forcing communities to drink contaminated water. The zionist siege on Gaza has made it nearly impossible for communities to receive medicine and gas to run hospitals. The Qawem Coalition encourages people to support humanitarian efforts that do not undermine Palestinian resistance or the struggles of a people to defend themselves against economic, social, cultural, and physical annihilation under colonialism.
The United States and the European Union use “humanitarian aid” as another weapon against the Palestinian people. They maintain the zionist blockade against support for the resistance and against all independent resources, while funneling money through organizations that are tied either to the collaborationist Palestinian Authority or to nongovernmental organization that explicitly denounce the resistance. Below are organizations that provide humanitarian aid to Palestinians without condemning the Palestinian people’s resistance.
